Zed Wars goes open source
We’re excited to announce that Zed Wars is now fully open source!
After years of development and countless hours building one of the most ambitious fully on-chain games on Solana, we’ve decided to share our work with the community.
What’s included
The Zed Wars repository contains:
- Complete Anchor program source code
- Game mechanics and state management
- Energy system implementation
- Loot and inventory systems
- PvP combat mechanics
Why open source?
Building on-chain games is hard and the timing was just not right. We learned a lot during development and we want to help others avoid the same pitfalls we encountered.
By open sourcing Zed Wars, we hope to:
- Help other developers learn from our architecture decisions
- Inspire new on-chain game projects
- Give back to the Solana community that supported us
What’s next
We’ll be working on a V2 as time permits. Many lessons were learned and we hope to come back with a new and improved version. Stay tuned for more announcements!
